KMZ File updated - Will Pittenger's stuff for Google Earth and maps

My name is Will Pittenger. I have been making KMZ sets for Google Earth for a long time. After I starting making those, I wanted overlays for my sets. I was unsatisfied with the accuracy of the images available at Wikimedia Commons. So I started making my own with Inkscape and uploading them. Then I needed a place for anyone that liked my KMZ sets and/or maps to find others. For a while, a simple blog sufficed. But, once I started getting requests, I knew I needed something better. This site is the result. You are welcome to set up an account. Some activities are for registered users only. Take your time poking around and let me know what you think.

The Toronto street circuit KMZ set now has a map overlay

See preceding post for more information on the map. The new KMZ also includes adjusted turns, tweaked paths, and streets in use. You can get the KMZ here.

Anglesey's map now marks unpaved sections

Since I felt that some parts of Anglesey were unpaved, I decided to release a version of the map that shows that. The SVG is here is up at Commons.

Well, now the KMZ set for Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is updated

Turns out I was mistaken. I didn't have a local copy, but I it post a set some time ago. This version adds the new overlay and length meaurements. I also noticed an odd detail in the entry area for the pits that resulted in three possible versions. Two add chicanes, but no length. In fact, all use the same pavement.

New overlay for the downtown Detroit Circuit

I completely redid my map of the circuit that Formula 1 and CART used in downtown Detroit. The new image includes local streets, a scale, and more. As a result the overlay in this set has been updated.

The update to Miller Motorsports Park is finally done.

The extra delays were due to problems like issues with my computer (not Google Earth), me being out of town, and my being surprisingly sleepy at times when I wanted to work on the set. But it is done.

All turns on the main track have turn names now.
All of the original Kart track configurations I listed before now have names.
Many configurations of the Kart track that I missed are now included. These have names too.
It turns out the Kart track is also a SuperMoto track when one or both of two extensions I didn't see before are added. There are now 46 configurations with those possibilities.

Update: Monza now has two more track layouts

Both use pavement that I saw before, but couldn't figure out how they were used. Now I have that.
