18 July 2008 - Will Pittenger's stuff for Google Earth and maps

My name is Will Pittenger. I have been making KMZ sets for Google Earth for a long time. After I starting making those, I wanted overlays for my sets. I was unsatisfied with the accuracy of the images available at Wikimedia Commons. So I started making my own with Inkscape and uploading them. Then I needed a place for anyone that liked my KMZ sets and/or maps to find others. For a while, a simple blog sufficed. But, once I started getting requests, I knew I needed something better. This site is the result. You are welcome to set up an account. Some activities are for registered users only. Take your time poking around and let me know what you think.

Kyalami

Configurations:

1 Full sized track
1 Karting track

Overlays:

1, based on this new Wikipedia image:Image:Kyalami.svg

Placemarks:

13 for the full sized track.
12 for the karting track.

History: This track used to be completely different. Only one little tiny piece of pavement remains from that (in a place where the current track can't use it). Formula 1 has raced there.

Circuito Permanente de Jerez

I included an overlay and information (including placemarks for the turns plus polygons for each track configuration) for the main track, a nearby club car track, and two go kart tracks (one is inside the main track in a parking lot.

Zandvoort

Not only did I include an overlay, several configurations, placemarks for each turn; but I added historical information that I found about what the track was like long before GE was dreamed up. That includes another overlay, track configuration and more.
