This track in former East Germany is rather new (1995), but was
inspired by a steet racing circuit from which it borrows some layout
remants. During the Cold War, the East German government got upset when
citizens sang the West German anthem when a West German one the race.
So following 1971, they banned races that were open to those from the
West.
I included an overlay based on a brand new SVG. There are
three track layouts, placemarks for each turn, and some placemarks for
other items at the facility. Unfortunately, data for the historical
layouts - especially the street circuit is scarce.

My name is Will Pittenger. I have been making KMZ sets for Google Earth for a long time. After I starting making those, I wanted overlays for my sets. I was unsatisfied with the accuracy of the images available at Wikimedia Commons. So I started making my own with Inkscape and uploading them. Then I needed a place for anyone that liked my KMZ sets and/or maps to find others. For a while, a simple blog sufficed. But, once I started getting requests, I knew I needed something better.
